Professor Olawumi Oluwafunmilola Fapohunda

Professor Olawumi Oluwafunmilola Fapohunda has spent about 30 years post-qualification working experience as a lecturer, researcher, examiner, administrator and consultant in tertiary institutions. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Zoology (B. Sc.) from the Ondo State University, Ado-Ekiti, Master of Technology in Fisheries Management (M. Agric. Tech.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph. D.) degrees in Fisheries Economics from Federal University of Technology, Akure. She holds an LLB Law degree to her credit.
Professor Fapohunda joined the services of Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, on 10th February 2005 as a Lecturer I after lecturing at the Federal College of Agriculture, Akure, from 1994 to 2005 (February). She was announced a Professor of Fisheries Management (Fisheries Economics; Aquaculture: Fish Nutrition, Fish Processing and Preservation) in 2014. She has served in various capacities, in both institutions as Head of Department and in the University, amongst other things as Chairman/member of several statutory and ad-hoc committees at different times, i.e. Deputy Provost, College of Postgraduate College, and currently elected the Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti.
Her research interests are in Fisheries Economics, Aquaculture: Fish Nutrition, Fish Processing and Preservation, where she has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles in reputable local and international journals. She has attended and presented papers at local and international conferences/workshops. She has also served as many universities’ academic assessor/reviewer and external examiner. Prof. Fapohunda has served as a member and Chair of the National Universities Commission accreditation panel – on the Accreditation Exercise of University Academic programmes.
