Dr. (Mrs.) Akin-Obasola Bola Joyce

Dr. (Mrs.) Akin-Obasola Bola Joyce, a professional young Nigerian lady, obtained her Bachelor of Technology in Agriculture (Fisheries and Wildlife) with a First class honours and Masters of Technology in Agriculture (Fisheries Management) Degrees from The Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State.

She joined the services of University of Ado Ekiti (UNAD) now Ekiti State University (EKSU), in 2009 as an Assistant Lecturer. She enrolled for her doctorate degree in the same institution and holds a Ph.D degree in Aquaculture Management.

Dr. (Mrs.) Akin-Obasola is a recipient of several awards such as; Federal University of Technology, Akure award for Student with the highest CGPA in the Department of Fisheries and Wildlife, 1992/93 session; Federal University of Technology, Akure, award as the best graduating student in the Department of Fisheries and Wildlife, 1992/93 session.

She has enjoyed several grants which include; Federal University of Technology, Akure, Staff development Award for her degree in M. Tech. (Agric) in Fisheries Management; Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti; TET- FUND Award for Bench work on her Ph.D. at the University of Stirling, Institute of Aquaculture, Stirling, Scotland in 2015 and Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti staff development Award for her Ph.D. in Aquaculture Management.

She has also enjoyed several research grants which include; Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti Institution Based TET- FUND Research grant for 2017/2018 Session and National Research Foundation (NRF) Award for World Aquaculture Conference in 2017. Dr. (Mrs.) Akin-Obasola was selected at the State level of Ekiti as a part-time member of the Governing Board of Ekiti State Security Network between the years 2020 – 2022.

She has published many well-researched articles in reputable local and international journals. She has attended many learned conferences, workshops and seminars both in Nigeria and overseas.

 She is a member of the following professional organizations: Fisheries Society of Nigeria (FISON), National Association of Women in Academics (NAWACS), Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD); She is presently the Coordinator of EKSU Branch, and World Aquaculture Society (WAS), African Chapter. She has been to many countries of the world namely; Scotland in the United Kingdom, France, UAE (Dubai), South Africa, Togo, Republic of Benin among others.
